Endangered and Threatened Species Studies and Biological Assessments: Mr. Napier managed or assisted in the following assessments and studies:

 

Wood Stork genome project, including the capture and banding of young birds, as well as assisting in the acquisition of blood samples for study – Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge, Georgia.

 

Red-cockaded woodpecker study assisted in the data collection of young birds in a breeding colony – Camp Blanding, Florida. 

 

Eastern indigo snake study and survey using fiber optic equipment – St. George, Florida.

 

Eastern Indigo Snake habitat assessment and study, preparation of a Habitat Conservation Plan for the species - Willacoochee, Georgia. 

 

Development of guidelines and procedures to be utilized to avoid and minimize potential taking of the eastern indigo snake during the installation of fiber optic cable along a railroad right-of-way – Brooksville to Arcadia, Florida.  

 

Eastern indigo snake study, survey and habitat assessment associated with the installation of fiber optic cable – Waycross to Macon, Georgia. 

 

Gopher tortoise population study, relocation, and restoration of sandhill habitat – White Oak Plantation, Yulee, Florida.  

 

Boyd Estate (160 acres), wetland assessment and endangered and threatened species study for the Nature Conservancy – Switzerland, Florida. 

 

Spinnakers Reach (18 acres), wetland delineation, endangered and threatened species survey, site specific survey for Eastern Indigo Snakes, preparation of materials for administrative hearing – Jacksonville, Florida.

Use of a Goin dredge for the purpose of identifying the various herpetofaunal special associated with a specific water body – Palatka, Florida.

 

Use of gopher tortoise burrow camera to identify and catalogue gopher tortoise commensal species, University of North Florida – Jacksonville, Florida.

 

Assisted with flatwoods salamander sampling, and trapping effort (in association with Dirk Stevenson) – Ft. Stewart, Georgia.
