Remediation of Waste Oil Release - CSX Intermodal, Jacksonville Florida, Project Geologist--Supervised remediation (excavation) of petroleum contaminated (equipment wash area) soils at a large rail on-loading and off-loading facility.

Regulatory Compliance Audits – CSX Transportation, Project Geologist--Conducted Regulatory Compliance Audits at approximately 60 abandoned rail-yards throughout the eastern U.S. Project was conducted as part of an extensive consent order entered between the U.S. EPA and the Railroad.

Site Assessments, Project Manager--Managed and conducted contamination assessment investigations at over 60 facilities throughout the southeastern United States.  Concurrently implemented field investigations at up to 26 petroleum Convenience Store Sites in northeast Florida.  Investigations have included the assessment of soils, groundwater, surface waters, and stream sediments.  Projects include field investigations during the assessment of spills as large as 30,000 gallons (CSX Rocky Mount Rail Yard).

Remediation System Installation – Chevron USA, Florida, Field team Leader-- Supervised remedial system installations throughout Florida.  Systems included pump-and-treat and VES.

Remedial Action Plans– Chevron USA, Northern, Florida, Project Manager or Project Geologist--Project Geologist for several Remedial Action Plans for leaking underground storage tank sites in northeast Florida, including remediation of phase-separated petroleum hydrocarbons, contaminated soil and/or contaminated groundwater.  Responsibilities included project management, pilot study including - pump tests, hydrogeological analyses, insitu air sparging tests, VES testing, and remedial design.

Remedial System Operation and Maintenance – Chevron USA, Project Geologist--Trouble shooting on more difficult O & M problems, weekly site inspections, well efficiency evaluations.

R.C.R.A. Facility Investigation, US Department of Energy, Pantex Plant, Amarillo, Texas, Lead Geologist--Supervised the installation of groundwater monitoring wells including extensive soil sampling for chemical and physical parameters (including high explosives and radionuclide) under extensive security and health and safety constraints in the facility that builds the United States Nuclear Arsenal. Coordinated drill rig site set up to accommodate extensive oversight requirements for locations set up within secured areas. Prepared and interpreted geologic data following field investigation and coordinated sampling effort.

R.C.R.A. Closure Investigation, Phillips Core Petrochemical Refinery, Puerto Rico, Field Team Leader--Conducted monitoring well installation and development at a refinery facility to monitor potential impacts to groundwater associated with wastewater holding ponds and wastewater treatment facilities.

R.C.R.A. Facility Investigation, Phillips Core Petrochemical Refinery, Puerto Rico, Field Crew Leader and Project Geologist--Conducted a soil vapor investigation and a preliminary groundwater screening investigation to delineate the extent of multiple source, multiple species volatile organic compound plumes (benzene, cyclo-hexane, gasoline and naphtha).  Supervised the installation and development of groundwater monitoring wells including the installation of double-cased deep aquifer wells within alluvial fan deposits.  Coordinated sampling effort for field crew, including the sampling of more than 60 monitoring wells for intensive parameter lists.  Responsible for report coordination and geologic interpretation of the extensive field data collected for the site.

Soil Screening Investigation, Phillips Core Petrochemical Refinery, Puerto Rico, Project Manager--Managed a soil boring and soil vapor screening program to determine the origin of elevated soil headspace readings found during monitoring well installation.

Telecommunication Site Development Support, Project Director--Managed and Directed Phase I & II Environmental Assessments, NEPA Screening, Geotechnical Engineering of Foundations, Antenna Tower Inspections, Antenna Azimuth Aiming and Construction Testing at hundreds of locations throughout the southeastern United States.

Transaction Screening Process Questionnaires--Project Director for a continuous three-year environmental assessment project for Barnett Bank.  Project included over 1200 Transaction Screen Process Questionnaires on properties prior to foreclosure.  Follow-up environmental consulting included assessment and remediation of petroleum, hazardous waste and solid waste.

Phase I/Phase II Environmental Assessments, Project Manager or Lead Geologist--Managed and conducted Phase I & II Environmental Assessments at hundreds of locations throughout the southeastern United States.  Investigative methods include inspection, monitoring well installation, soil boring installation, and soil vapor extraction.  Work elements included groundwater sampling, soil sampling, and soil gas surveying as well as subsequent report preparation detailing field investigation findings and remedial costing and coordination prior to closing.

Groundwater Mounding Studies--Project Manager for several groundwater-mounding studies for Municipal Wastewater Land Application Fields.  Projects included extensive exploration and Groundwater Modeling using MODFLOW and FLOWPATH.

Asbestos Containing Building Material Surveys, City of Jacksonville, Florida, LaVilla/Brooklyn Redevelopment Project, Project Manager--Managed project including ACBM Surveys for approximately 200 buildings as part of an extensive urban revitalization project.

Underground Storage Tank Removals, Project Manager--Supervised removal of several underground storage tanks, including closure sampling and closure assessment report preparation.

Geotechnical Engineering Design Study – PENNDOT, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Geologist--Field crew leader for geotechnical engineering design study for Greater Pittsburgh International Airport access highway.  Responsible for the installation of approximately 200 test borings varying in depth from 20 to 200 feet including geologic interpretation and correlation of soil samples and sedimentary rock core.  Responsible for installation of deep monitoring wells in abandoned coalmines.

Geotechnical/Hydrogeological Design Study - APS, Reesdale, Pennsylvania, Geologist--Field crew leader for geotechnical/hydrogeological design study for fly ash disposal area.  Responsible for installation of several deep aquifer (300 foot) monitoring wells including geologic interpretation of soil samples and sedimentary rock core.  Conducted packer pressure permeability testing in several deep boreholes.  Conducted falling head permeability tests in shallow sand and gravel aquifers.  In addition, mathematically interpreted data to determine hydrogeologic characteristics of strata.
